Description

Few animals capture the imagination of Costa Rica’s visitors like the sloth. Calm, charismatic, and impossibly photogenic, the sloth embodies the tropical lifestyle—slow, peaceful, and deeply connected to the rainforest. This guided tour offers an intimate opportunity to observe both two-toed and three-toed sloths in their natural habitat, as well as the hidden world of species that share their ecosystem.

Your naturalist guide will lead you through forest trails and local biological corridors where sloths thrive thanks to abundant food sources and protective vegetation. Along the way, you’ll learn about their behavior, diet, movement, and fascinating adaptations—including their symbiotic relationship with algae, moths, and microorganisms that live in their fur.

While sloths are the stars of the tour, the experience also reveals surprising rainforest details: colorful birds, poison-dart frogs, iguanas, butterflies, and sometimes toucans or monkeys passing overhead. With patience and expert spotting, this tour guarantees unforgettable wildlife encounters and excellent photography opportunities.
